Somalia stands at a crossroads. After decades of conflict, fragmentation, and externally imposed power-sharing arrangements, the time has come to restore sovereignty to its rightful owner: the Somali people.
Somali Elects is a civic-driven movement born out of a simple yet powerful belief — that every Somali deserves the right to vote. Our core message is clear: “One person, one vote” (1V1P) must not be a foreign ideal; it must become the foundation of Somali democracy.
For too long, Somalia has been governed by indirect electoral models that exclude the vast majority of its citizens. Decisions about leadership and governance are made behind closed doors, negotiated by a handful of elites in the name of “stability.” But true stability cannot exist without legitimacy — and legitimacy comes only from the will of the people.
At Somali Elects, we believe in:
Universal suffrage for all Somali citizens, regardless of clan, region, or gender
Transparent electoral processes that reflect the will of the majority
Youth participation, recognizing that over 70% of Somalia’s population is under 30
A united Somali identity, transcending divisions imposed by warlords and foreign agendas
This platform is not a political party. It is a democratic campaign — a voice for the voiceless. Whether you are a student in Mogadishu, a herder in Mudug, or a Somali in the diaspora, your vote matters. Your voice matters.
We are building a future where every Somali can cast a ballot and shape their nation’s path. Because democracy should not be a privilege enjoyed only by others — it is a right that belongs to us all.
Join us. Speak up. Elect your future.
Somali Elects – One Nation. One Vote. One Future.
